Frequently Asked Questions

What can I expect to pay?

Each 55-minute session is $220. You will receive a Good Faith Estimate outlining anticipated costs, based on frequency of services.

I also offer the following intensives:

  • 90-minute individual intensive: $350

  • 2 hour couples intensive: $450

  • 3 hour couples intensive: $700

Why don’t you take insurance?

Most insurance companies require a major mental health diagnosis to be eligible for reimbursement. I don’t believe in pathologizing those who are displaying appropriate reactions (ie, sadness, anxiety) to the high stress of the world we live in and/or the relational traumas experienced.

I curate therapy to each individual and thus session duration, frequency of treatment, and modality will vary, which often does not align with insurance company mandates.

How can I pay for services?

Payment is due in full at the time of session. I accept all major credit cards as well as FSA/HSA cards. If you have out-of-network benefits, I can provide an itemized receipt or “superbill,” that you can then submit to your insurance provider for possible partial reimbursement.

What is the No Surprises Act?

The No Surprises Act, which is part of the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2021, is designed to protect you from receiving unexpected medical bills. The Good Faith Estimate provision of the No Surprises Act is intended to give you an estimate of how much you will be charged for the services you are receiving, prior to your appointment.

The number of sessions/how frequently you attend therapy is what will ultimately influence what you can expect to pay. Frequency of treatment is impacted by clinical need and therapeutic progress.

Are telehealth services available?

I am happy to meet virtually, However, please be aware that licensing restrictions require that you are physically in Minnesota or Illinois (where I hold active licensure) at the time of session.
